Our Canine Teams

Help us to reach our goal of 100 certified teams this year!

A DOGABILITY TEAM consists of an handler and his/her dog. A handler must be at least 18 years old.

We accept all breeds and ages beginning at 5 months old with veterinary authorization. 

**We cannot accept any active service dogs in our program as we respect their role required by the ADI (Assistance Dog International). Service dogs are not to be engaged with, or be distracted from, their focus of mitigating a person's disability.**

All of our dogs must be “stranger friendly“ and pass our basic temperament and control evaluation before being considered for the program. After passing the initial evaluation, teams are scheduled for 2 supervised trial sessions with our participants. Supervised participant sessions are scheduled according to your availability. If all goes well, team training can begin. 

To remain a certified team in good standing, we ask that all teams attend a minimum of 2 sessions per month, either on weekdays or a Saturday for one year. Membership is renewable yearly upon payment of insurance.

FEES

INSURANCE = $30 per year

TRAINING SESSIONS = $150

*Active members in an AKC recognized therapy dog program as well as those who have attained their AKC/CGC certification will be charged at a reduced rate.
